The Rice Launch Challenge is Rice’s new prestigious entrepreneurship competition, awarding $30,000 in prize money to Rice-affiliated startups. Students and alumni enter their business ideas to compete in one of two categories: High Growth Ventures and Small Business Ideas. (NOTE: This was formerly known as OwlTank).

APPLICATION PROCESS

At least one member of your team must be a current Rice student (undergraduate or graduate), alumni, or professor. The Rice affiliate must be an active contributing member to the team beyond an advisory role.

Applicants will be asked to answer a variety of questions about the business plan, to submit an executive summary or pitch deck, as welll as a one minute video (Youtube or Vimeo) of your team member pitching (informal, mobile phone video!).

Applications are due by midnight on Sunday, March 12th. We will announce finalists by Friday, March 17th. Finalists will be required to attend mandatory training session the following week.
